The new application for mobile phones called "SEISMICITY - E.A.A" was created and presented by the Geodynamic Institute of the National Observatory of Athens, to provide timely and reliable information to citizens about seismic events in the Greek area.

The application is a direct point of contact for the public, the print and electronic press, and the scientific community around the seismic phenomena in our country. Thanks to the participatory action of the users, the application displays an overall picture of the magnitude and effects of an earthquake.

What topics does it inform about?

The main features of the application, which is available in Greek and English, are:

Update on seismic events in real-time.

Ability to view seismic events on a map and observe their geographic location.

A personalized view of events (magnitude of earthquake, date, distance from user's location).

Ability to share seismic events via email, social networks, etc.

A "felt an earthquake" feature where users log their experiences but also displays the area where an earthquake has been felt, according to user entries.

One can " download " the application on Android devices through Google Play and on iOS devices through the Apple Store.
